Drinking coffee may lower the risk of severe form of prostate cancer

(NaturalNews) Men who drink coffee regularly may reduce their risk of
the most dangerous form of prostate cancer, according to a study
conducted by researchers from Harvard Medical School and presented at a
Houston conference of the American Association for Cancer Research.

Prostate cancer kills more than 27,000 men in the United States each year,
making it the second deadliest cancer in men, surpassed only by lung
cancer. Roughly 200,000 new cases are diagnosed in the country each
year.

"Few studies have looked prospectively at this association, and none have looked at coffee and specific prostate
cancer outcomes," said lead researcher Kathryn Wilson. "We specifically
looked at different types of prostate cancer, such as advanced vs.
localized cancer or high-grade vs. low-grade cancers."

Researchers studied 50,000 men between 1986 and 2006, recording their coffee
consumption once every four years. They found that the rate of advanced
prostate cancer was 60 percent lower in those who drank six or more
cups of coffee per day than in those who never consumed the beverage.
Those who drank between four and five cups per day lowered their risk
by 25 percent, while those who drank one to three cups lowered it by 20
percent.

The same risk reduction was seen regardless of whether the men drank caffeinated or non-caffeinated coffee.

No relationship was seen between coffee consumption and the risk of
developing prostate cancer, only the risk of developing cancer that
eventually progressed into an advanced stage. This might explain why
prior studies have found no connection between coffee drinking and
prostate cancer risk.

The researchers are unsure exactly how coffee affects cancer risk, although it may have something to do with
levels of the sugar-regulating hormone insulin. High insulin levels
have previously been correlated with prostate cancer risk, and coffee
has been shown to increase the body's use of the hormone.

Coffee is one of the most popular beverages in the world. It is consumed by 54 percent of U.S. adults.

Hi Karen,

Coffee is the most consumed beverage after water and 21/2 times more than soda/fizzy drinks.

Its the number two commodity traded after oil. with over 400 million cups per day consumed in the US/Canada and over 400 billion worldwide.

The issues I have with normal coffee is the acidity level throwing the body's PH level out of balance and estimates suggest that it would require 17 glasses of water per cup to bring it back into balance. The other issue is the caffeine rush on the system unchecked it pushes up the blood pressure, adrenaline and heart rate. For most drinkers the buzz is enjoyable and they feel it gives them the boost they need to start the day. I used to be one of those but I found it made me a bit edgey and when I changed my coffee it was a pleasent surprise and instead of getting a quick buzz I was getting the energy increase over hours and without the side effects of the caffeine. The Ganoderma in the coffee allowed a slow release of caffeine utilising the energy while controlling the non beneficial side effects. This is a great benefit for those who may have high blood pressure or clogged arteries as most doctors will immediately tell their patient to stop drinking coffee.( they sometimes forget to mention energy drinks chocolate etc ) probably because they see coffee as the main culprit.

There are others of course that love coffee but just cannot drink due to the effect it has on them such as : Migraines, muscle tremors, upset stomach, heart palpatation. Now they can drink coffee again without fear of these side effects striking ! There are of course other added health benefits which I won't go into as I cannot make specific medical claims but anybody can google or check out pubmed.gov.

There are many studies that state one thing or another that can be skewed by big commercial

interests . one case example some years ago it was stated on tv that too much orange juice was bad for you ! some months later it was stated that that was not true you could drink all the orange juice you liked ! one thing that seems to be assured is that cancer cells don't thrive well in an well oxiginated enviorenment .

When thinking of Ganoderma some important points to watch : is it natural logwood cultivated ?

Is it certified 100% organic?

Does it have certified traceability ? is it packed in plastic as offgassing can contaminate it.

If it is in capsule form are they shelled in Veg derived or Gelatine capsules?

The cultivating and handling of Ganoderma is too complicated to go into here but I thought some of the main points were worth a mention.

you can e-mail me for a sample or see http://www.beneficial.organgold.com

Hope you and the members are keeping well  and have a great day .

best wishes
